MMC hosts "Harvest of Hope" - Spend a day on a working farm!

On Saturday, September 15, Memorial Medical Center is hosting its second "Harvest of Hope" — a community cancer-prevention food and nutrition event focused on a healthful way to eat local, sustainable foods to support optimal health.

The event, held at LaRosa Family Farms in Hughson, CA, offers attendees a chance to participate in farm-to-fork workshops to learn about the best local, sustainable food choices and to end the day with a field-to-table dinner.

"Our goal is to educate, inspire behavior change in the way we eat, and get people thinking about food for optimal health," said Cheryl Casey, MMC's Cancer Community Outreach Coordinator. "It's also an opportunity to honor all of those who work so hard to supply the wonderful harvest we have in our own agricultural community."

Attendees will have the opportunity to:

Memorial Medical Center seeks participants for patient family advisory council

Memorial Medical Center seeks participants for patient family advisory council

Memorial Medical Center (MMC) is committed to providing a consistent, high quality patient experience and is looking for additional community members to gain insight and feedback about the experiences patients and their families have had at the Sutter Health hospital in Modesto.

“We are working to make the voice of the patient and family evident in everything we do,” said Roberta Mori, director of patient and family engagement at Sutter Health. “At Sutter Health, we value our patients’ voices and understand they can help us to improve and promote patient-centered care.”

The process for becoming an advisor consists of an initial phone screening, followed by an in-person interview. This is a volunteer position and is not compensated.

Those interested in learning more about the Patient Family Advisory Council or signing up to be a volunteer can visit our website,www.sutterhealth.org/pfac, to complete an online application.
