Dr. Seuss Birthday Party at the Keyes Library

You might not be a cat, but you can create your own hat! During a celebration of Dr. Seuss on Wednesday, March 9 at 1 p.m., children can make a felt hat similar to the one featured in the famous story, The Cat in the Hat, by Dr. Seuss. Participants can also play One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish by guessing the number of fish in a jar. The closest guess will win a Dr. Seuss tote bag filled with prizes.  In honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday, cake will also be served while supplies last.

Theodor Geisel, who wrote under the pen name Dr. Seuss, has played an important role in charming children everywhere into reading. Celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday is a way for libraries, schools, and parents to underscore the importance and joy of reading.

This program is free and open to the community with support from donations, large and small, to the Friends of the Keyes Library. The Keyes Library is located on 4420 Maud Ave. For more information, please call 664-8006.
