Sierra Railroad’s famous Christmas Train is a special treat for children of all age's.

On this year's Christmas Train we are making a HUGE change. Instead of reading the book " Morgan and the Magical Christmas Train " we are now bringing the book to life.You will meet Morgan, the Conductor, the playful Teddy Bear, and of course Jolly Santa. You will still be able to sing along with our Christmas Singer while you enjoy the Hot Cocoa and Cookies. As always you are welcome to wear your pajamas|

The Train is 1 1/2 hours. You may pre-order the book " Morgan and the Magical Christmas Train " and save $ 3.00 now, and have the Characters sign your book.

Adults $ 36.00 Children $ 29.00 Infants under 2 Free, but Infants are expected to sit on your lap. To sit with other parties, just mention there name in the comment section and we will seat you all together.

January Fun at the Keyes Library

Join the Keyes Library during the month of January for several family-friendly events for individuals of all ages!

Tweens and teens ages 12 through 18 can ring in the New Year with a special library celebration on Thursday, January 2 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Participants can make unique buttons and pins for their bags and backpacks, as well as, play popular Wii games. This is a fun event where teens and tweens can interact with their peers and enjoy a safe activity during their winter break.

Aspiring chefs can participate in the What’s Cooking?: Recipe Exchange from Jan. 2 through Jan. 30. Participants can come by the library for winter cooking ideas and pick up the recipes of the month! While at the library turn in your favorite recipe to be entered into the contest for the recipe of the month in February! Two recipes will be chosen for February’s Recipes of the Month.

Join the Keyes Library during the month of December for several merry and family-friendly events for individuals of all ages!

Children and teens can participate in the Keyes Book Bingo from Dec. 2 through Dec. 31. Pick up a bingo card from the library and follow the instructions to win candy and prizes. The Keyes Library will also have a grand prize drawing for those participants that turn in a completed bingo card! Two winners will each receive the grand prize of a scooter with lighted wheels.

Valley Charter High School Hosts Open House

Valley Charter High School’s (VCHS) Open House is slated for November 12, from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the school (108 Campus Way, Modesto).  The open house is an opportunity for parents and prospective students to meet students and teachers; learn more about the school, the programs offered in collaboration with Modesto Junior College, and how to enroll for the current and upcoming school years.

At the Open House, VCHS will distribute pre-registration information to new students entering grades 9-12 for the 2014-2015 school year.  Application packets for the current school year are available in the VCHS office or on the website at www.valleycharterhighschool.org.

Halloween at the Keyes Library

Looking for some Halloween fun? Children can have a ghoulishly good time during Halloween Happenings at the Keyes Library on Thursday, October 31 at 3 p.m. Celebrate Halloween at the library with fun toss games, matching games, prizes, a tiger mask craft, and trick-or-treating. Children are sure to have a wonderful time during this family-friendly Halloween Celebration. Costumes are encouraged, but not required.

This event is sponsored by the Stanislaus Library Foundation and the Friends of the Keyes Library. The Keyes Library is located on 4420 Maud Ave. For more information, please call 664-8006.

Children can also have fun with a Thanksgiving Craft on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 3 p.m. During this fall craft, children will have the opportunity to weave a cute pumpkin decoration for their Thanksgiving table!
