ENCOURAGEMENT AND APPRECIATION ARE CONTAGIOUS

ENCOURAGEMENT AND APPRECIATION ARE CONTAGIOUS

This week, notice the people around you (young and old).  The clerk at the grocery store.  Your next door neighbor.  A co-worker.  A barista at your favorite coffee house.  Offer a few words of encouragement or appreciation...

University of the Pacific program will help meet nationwide demand for data scientists

University of the Pacific this fall will begin showing working professionals not only how to crunch data, but how to use the information to help their organizations prosper.

Pacific’s School of Engineering and Computer Science is offering a new master of science degree in analytics, a high-paying field facing an acute shortage of professionals. The program will be based at the university’s new, state-of-the-art campus in San Francisco.

With courses such as Data Engineering, Machine Learning and Data Visualization, the program will combine rigorous academic training in analytics along with the practical experience of working on real-world case studies of issues facing industries today.

Mojo Motivation: Yes, you can!

Mojo Motivation: Yes, you can!

Mojo Motivation: Yes, you can!

One of my favorite quotes, "Don't look back. Something may be gaining on you."  Our Folsom mamas are certainly not looking back as they walk/jog and eat these hills for breakfast!  Do you remember the first time you looked at that hill, then were asked to jog up?  You were probably thinking..."can I do this?"  Yes, you can.

If you find yourself struggling with a goal or your New Year Resolution, look at the challenge not as a setback, but as an opportunity to discover who you are.  Reset, reboot, start today.  Yes, you can.

2014 Weekly Challenge #49: Hydration!

2014 Weekly Challenge #49: Hydration!

2014 Weekly Challenge #49: Hydration!

Yep, back up on my soap box again...This weeks' challenge is all about HYDRATION.

Living where we do, it is almost impossible to forget to drink water in the summer.  Those triple digit days make it pretty easy to remember our water bottles when we leave the house, and all that sweating reminds us we need to restore our body's balance.

In the winter...well, the winter is a different story.  In the winter, it feels easier and more intuitive to grab an extra cup of coffee, or snuggle up with hot tea.  And a cold drink of water on a cold morning isn't exactly the first thing I think of grabbing.

2014 Weekly Challenge #43: A Month of Being THANKFUL

2014 Weekly Challenge #43: A month of being THANKFUL

In this month of Thanksgiving, we at Mama Bootcamp are all focusing on what we are thankful for.

We are thankful for our health, our families, and for all the beauty in our lives.  And of course we are especially thankful to have our MOJO, and to be able to share it with each and every one of our Mamas.  In short, we are thankful for YOU!

This week, your challenge is to focus on your attitude of gratitude.   What are YOU thankful for?  Post it on Facebook to share it with the other Mamas and with your proud and THANKFUL coaches.

Alpha Gamma Sigma & City of Hope will host the 2nd Annual Delta College Be the Match donor registry drive, Thur, Oct 23, 10am-2pm in Danner Hall.

Be the Match registers potential blood marrow donors and matches them with critically ill blood cancer patients. Potential donors complete a short questionnaire, then perform their own cheek swab. City of Hope takes care of the rest.

Last year, Delta’s drive was a great success. 147 students registered with Be the Match. Statewide, over 1350 students registered at Alpha Gamma Sigma (California Community College Scholastic Honor Society) sponsored events.
