MMC hosts "Harvest of Hope" - Spend a day on a working farm!
On Saturday, September 15, Memorial Medical Center is hosting its second "Harvest of Hope" — a community cancer-prevention food and nutrition event focused on a healthful way to eat local, sustainable foods to support optimal health.
The event, held at LaRosa Family Farms in Hughson, CA, offers attendees a chance to participate in farm-to-fork workshops to learn about the best local, sustainable food choices and to end the day with a field-to-table dinner.
"Our goal is to educate, inspire behavior change in the way we eat, and get people thinking about food for optimal health," said Cheryl Casey, MMC's Cancer Community Outreach Coordinator. "It's also an opportunity to honor all of those who work so hard to supply the wonderful harvest we have in our own agricultural community."
