It’s time again for the Amgen Tour of California, the popular bicycle race that pits the best of the best against each other and the road. Modesto has been selected as the stage two starting point on May 15, and local businesses are going to benefit from increased patronage.

Stockton ballpark to host baseball championships

Banner Island Ballpark in Stockton will be hosting the 2017 California Collegiate Athletic Association’s Baseball Championships this Wednesday through Saturday.

The CCAA consists of 12 schools that can qualify for the tournament, one of which is California State Stanislaus. The ballpark will host the championships in 2017 and 2018. Previously, it hosted the tournament in 2013, 2014 and 2016.
