City of Tracy brings Blues, Brews & BBQ to Downtown Plaza

Tracy, Calif. - Head to Downtown Tracy for an afternoon filled with live music, food and family fun! Tracy’s first Blues, Brews & BBQ event is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2015 from noon - 6:00pm. The Blues, Brews & BBQ event will be held at the beautiful Downtown Plaza located on the corner of 6th Street and Central Avenue. This event will include a barbecue contest, home brewed beer contest, children’s entertainment, food trucks and three live bands on stage.

The event will kick off with Blues musician Lara Price. Lara’s passion for Blues music was clear when she was featured in an inspiring article about Blues jams in the September issue of the Blues Revue Magazine. The Lara Price Band has toured across the United States and China. Joining the concert lineup is Maxx Cabello, Jr. This young guitar artist will have you hooked with his soulful vocals and prolific songwriting. Maxx has been privileged enough to open for music greats such as Earth, Wind, and Fire, John Lee Hooker, Los Lonely Boys, Mr. BB King, and more.

Shane Dwight is set to headline this year’s festivities. Shane is an American Roots Music Artist performing over 200 shows per year worldwide. Shane now has eight CDs and two live DVDs under his belt. This veteran in the music industry has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in music including B.B. King, Etta James, Jimmie Vaughan, Taj Mahal, the Doobie Brothers, Los Lobos, Los Lonely Boys and Johnny Winter.

“There’s already been a lot of talk and excitement in the community about the Blues, Brews & BBQ event,” stated Kim Scarlata, Division Manager II. “Given the eye-catching theme and the community’s ongoing support of Downtown Tracy events, we’re anticipating a good turnout.”

Food will be available for purchase by a variety of food trucks; additionally there will be beer, wine and other non‐alcoholic beverages for sale. This event is open to the community and appropriate for guests of all ages. Don’t forget to bring the kids for a day filled with caricature drawing and face painting! Tickets for children activities can be purchased for $5.00 the day of the event.
