Stanislaus County Office of Education to Award Diplomas to Qualifying U.S. Veterans

The Stanislaus County Office of Education (SCOE) will award a high school diploma to a qualifying U.S. Veteran through its Operation Recognition program during the Office of Education’s County Board meeting on November 12, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. in SCOE’s Margaret L. Annear School’s multi-purpose room (1350 Stonum Road, Modesto). 

Stanislaus County residents whose high school education was interrupted during the World War II, Korean or the Vietnam Wars due to military service and/or internment are eligible to apply and receive a belated high school diploma.  Operation Recognition high school diplomas are authorized by California Education code section 51440 and 51430 (Senate Bill No. 1517) and to date, SCOE has awarded 125 diplomas. 

A high school diploma will be presented to Ervin E. Richards of Newman, CA who served in the Navy from 1973-1976.
