Promising Young Scientists to Compete at 18th Annual Elementary Science Olympiad

Approximately 450 elementary school children from throughout the region are gearing up for the 18th Annual Elementary Science Olympiad - slated for Saturday, March 28th from
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
at Hickman Elementary School, 13306-A Fourth Street in Hickman.  Admission is free.

Sponsored by the Stanislaus County Office of Education (SCOE) and supported by the Education Foundation of Stanislaus County, many of the events are open to the public beginning at 8:30 a.m. This year, spectator events include:  Bridge Building, Can Race, Catapult, Orienteering, Straw Egg Drop and Water Rockets.  The awards ceremony is slated to begin at 4:15 p.m. in the Hickman School lawn area.

The following elementary schools are scheduled to participate: Agnes Baptist, Bernard Hughes, Chatom, Chrysler, Dieterich, Eisenhut, Fair Oaks, Hart-Ransom, Hart-Ransom Charter, Hickman, Hickman Charter, Julien, Magnolia, Our Lady of Fatima, Paradise, Sacred Heart, Sierra View, St. Stanislaus, Vanguard and Walnut.
