TURLOCK - Retired community college president, Dr. Kenneth B. White has been appointed as the interim director of the EdD program in educational leadership at California State University, Stanislaus.

White, who retired from the Yosemite Community College District in 2010, has over 40 years of community college leadership experience, including service as president of Columbia College and most recently, as interim president at Modesto Junior College.

A search is currently underway for a permanent director, who will be in place by August 2011.

The EdD program accepted its first group of students in 2008. The cohort-based program, designed to be completed in three years, will see its first graduates receive their EdD degrees at the university’s May 27 commencement exercises.

Prior to his appointment as interim director, White taught in the EdD program as an adjunct faculty member. White has worked in community colleges in three states and has served successfully as a full-time professor, an academic dean, a chief instructional officer, and a college president. His service with Yosemite Community College District includes President of Columbia College (1992-1996), Professor of History (MJC 1996 - 2006), Dean of Business, Behavioral and Social Sciences (MJC 2006 - 2010), and Interim President (MJC Dec. 2009 - June 2010).
